Tune In!
A day of singing, mindfulness, and vocal health workshops for the whole community!
Dear friends of The Virginia Consort,
Tune-In is returning this year! Please mark your calendars for Saturday, February 1, from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at Brennan Hall, St. Anne's-Belfield School, with registration and coffee/tea starting at 8:30 a.m.
The exciting announcement is that because of our success and interest last year, we received a grant from the BAMA works foundation. The event this year will be FREE to all participants. We just ask that folks who are interested REGISTER so we can get an accurate count for music ordering.
We also appreciate the feedback we received from last year's event and have made some adjustments based on your feedback. The main adjustments are more breakout groups for vocal health concerns according to affinity groups (S/A, T/B, the aging voice, the young voice, etc...). We will also have sectionals with vocal coaching to learn the music so it feels less rushed before a final group sharing.
General Outline:
8:30-9:00 a.m.: Coffee and registration
9:00 a.m.-10:15 a.m.: Welcome canons, mindful listening, mindful body scan
10:30-12:00 p.m.: Sectionals and vocal coaching
12:00-1:00 p.m.: Lunch
1:00-2:30 p.m.: Vocal health presentations according to affinity groups (featured speaker via Zoom will be Cate Frazier-Neely author of Singing through Change but there will be presentations for all different voice categories.
2:30-3:00 p.m.: Final choral sing with full choir featuring pieces learned during morning sectionals
Please help us spread the word about our event. Feel free to forward this email to interested folks. Looking forward to another wonderful day of Tune-In!
All the best,
